The use of specialty sealers and primers is also crucial to sealing in any remaining odors. These fire damage sealers are used inside the open wall cavities on the studs of your house. This will be performed after all the damaged sections of the walls and ceilings have been removed.

The floors will usually have to be replaced and checked for any signs of structural weakness. Most often the floor will need to have the underlayment and finish replaced. Which means new hardwood, carpet, tile or vinyl will have to be installed.
